Keith Haring American, 1958-1990

Keith Haring (1958–1990) was an American artist and social activist whose work responded to the New York City street culture of the 1980s. He gained recognition for his public art, which often featured bold lines, vivid colors, and dynamic figures. Haring's art was heavily influenced by graffiti, pop art, and the underground club scene. He used his work to promote awareness about AIDS, a disease from which he would eventually succumb.
